THE RICH GOT RICHER, WE STILL STRUGGLE

In this newsletter edition we talk about how 40 million Americans filed for unemployment while America’s 5 richest billionaires saw their wealth increase by $76 billion and why we need to tax the rich.

Right now, the Illinois tax system allows millionaires and billionaires to pay little to nothing in state income taxes while we continue to struggle paying for rising property taxes, rent, and other costs of living.

TAX THE RICH, FUND OUR COMMUNITIES

In this election we will have the opportunity to vote on the Illinois “Fair Tax” constitutional amendment. The Fair Tax will move Illinois to a graduated tax system which will allow us to lower tax rates for working people while increasing tax rates on the rich.

Passing the Fair Tax amendment will allow us to raise much-needed money to fund our schools, child care, health care and infrastructure programs throughout Illinois.

Illinois’ richest billionaire, Ken Griffin has spent $50 million of his own money to spread confusion and lies about the Fair Tax amendment so that it doesn’t pass. Billionaires like Mr. Griffin will do anything to avoid paying their taxes. We can’t let him win.

We need to tell our family and friends to vote YES for the Fair Tax so that we can build a stronger Illinois for all of us.
