The persistent problem of homelessness underscores the lack of political will to address even the most basic human needs of our fellow citizens. More Chicago shelters have recently closed due to financial difficulties as we enter the coldest part of the year.
Come learn about work that organizations are doing on this important issue and discuss what can be done to elevate the political attention given to solving it at our next UN35 member meeting, Saturday, January 28 at Reilly Elementary School, 3650 W. School St. in Avondale.

Because the lack of affordable housing is one factor contributing to this issue, we will be canvassing in the community surrounding Reilly Elementary immediately after the meeting. We will talk with neighbors about our campaign to increase Affordable Housing in the ward. Please plan to stay and help have these important conversations.
