TURNOUT FOR JUDICIAL ELECTIONS

Judges wield a tremendous amount of power that is largely unchallenged. Judicial elections historically have the lowest voter turnout, yet judges’ rulings impact every citizen in their communities, as well as the economy, healthcare, schools, businesses, and numerous other areas of policy. Furthermore, voters are likely to be less informed about judicial candidates and vote based on party affiliation and popularity rather than qualifications. It’s critical that we elect qualified judges with integrity.
