UNITED NEIGHBORS OF THE 35TH WARD VOTES TO ENDORSE CARLOS FOR CONGRESS

UN35 members gathered Tuesday evening for an emergency endorsement session following the surprise announcement that Rep. Luis Gutierrez would not be seeking re-election. UN35 members voted unanimously to endorse Carlos Ramirez Rosa’s bid for that seat, pledging to organize members to collect petitions before Monday’s submission deadline. During the endorsement session, Ald. Rosa affirmed his commitment to the model of co-governance and community accountability being developed in partnership with UN35. He pledged to expand this model to the full 4th District, should he win the March primary.

With this very short turn-around for petition submission, we need all UN35 members to engage and support this effort. UN35 is integral to the Carlos for Congress campaign, so you can sign up for shifts to let us know when you will be at the office to work:  http://www.carlosrosa.org/petitionshifts

Note: You can sign up for a shift even if you can’t arrive right at the very beginning of the time slot. For example, you can sign up for an evening shift of 4:30pm until 7:30pm even if you know that you can’t arrive until 5:30pm.

Collecting petition signatures is the number one priority, but we also need support with data entry, phone calls, transporting petitioners, and donations of food and beverages.
